HVAC programs range from short certificates to two-year degrees. The sticker price is only part of it, so here is how to see the full cost before you enroll.

In short

HVAC school cost depends on the program length, the type of school and what is included. Community college certificates are often cheaper for local students than private schools. Beyond tuition, you may pay for tools, books, EPA 608 testing and other exams. Many techs also learn through paid apprenticeships or employer training, which lowers the cost or removes it. Ask schools for a written total.

- Is EPA 608 testing included in the program?
- How much lab time do students get on real equipment?
- Do you help with job placement, and what were last year's results?
- Will credits count toward an associate degree later?
